SHPE PENN STATE

Welcome to the SHPE Penn State Familia, where every student's success is our priority.

Dear Prospective Sponsor,
The Penn State Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Chapter has a long-standing tradition of cultivating and empowering its members to become leaders in academics, research, professionalism, and industry. We are reaching out to invite your company to become part of our SHPE familia as a valued sponsor.
SHPE is recognized as a premier source of Hispanic engineering and technical talent. Our mission is to promote the development of Hispanics in engineering, science, and other technical professions to achieve technical excellence, economic opportunity, and social impact. Our vision is to become the leading social-technical organization whose programs and initiatives positively influence the world through STEM leadership and innovation.
Penn State SHPE has consistently demonstrated excellence at both the regional and national levels. Our chapter received the Blue Chip Award for Excellence in the 2016–2017, 2019–2020, and 2021–2022 academic years. During the 2015–2016 academic year, we were honored as the Outstanding Medium Chapter of the Year at the national level. In 2025, our members won the Academic Olympiad Competition at the SHPE National Convention. Most recently, in 2026, our chapter earned both the People's Choice Award and the Student Community Impact Award at the Engineering Undergraduate Council Showcase.
The success of our chapter is driven by the success of our members. Penn State SHPE is composed of ambitious students, researchers, and future professionals who aspire to excel in science, technology, and engineering careers. Through our diverse programming, members gain opportunities to strengthen their leadership abilities, expand their professional networks, and develop both personally and professionally.
Throughout the academic year, our chapter hosts a variety of impactful events, including the SHPE Transition Engineering Program for Commonwealth Campus Students, Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, and Noches de Ciencias. These initiatives enable students to engage with their communities while fostering professional growth and personal development. Our events focus on one or more of the following areas: Professional Development, Chapter Development, Leadership Development, Academic Development, Community Outreach, and Cultural Celebrations. By sponsoring these programs, your organization directly contributes to creating meaningful opportunities that inspire and empower the next generation of Hispanic engineers.
As we begin a new academic year, we are seeking corporate partners to support our chapter during both the fall and spring semesters. In return, we offer opportunities to connect with a talented and diverse pool of students who can contribute to your organization's success. Sponsors may also receive recognition through the inclusion of their company logo on our website, promotional materials, and at the events they choose to support.
We sincerely thank you for considering this opportunity to invest in the future of Hispanic engineers at Penn State. Your generosity enables us to continue providing transformative experiences for our members and advancing our mission of fostering excellence, leadership, and community impact. It would be our privilege to partner with your organization as we strive toward another successful year and continue building a stronger, more inclusive engineering community.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and support.
Sincerely,
Mariana Blanco
